Thank you Francis

Just over fifty years ago, four scientists, in a race against the preeminant Biochemist of the 20th Century, Linus Pauling, managed to one up the master and break the chemical code of life, DNA.

Young genius James Watson, Maurice Watkins, the criminally uncredited Rosalin Franklin and Francis Crick figured out the code and affected the study of genetics, biochemistry, evolution, and biology as a whole for all eternity. It was the "theory of relativity" for life science. In one fell swoop we know the secret of life, and how the tool of evolution.

Crick died last night in San Diego at 88.

Attaturk writes silly captions and performs his day-to-day job in relative anonymity. Francis Crick, even if you've never heard of him, left a large imprint upon the world.
