The Conscience of the Free World

I haven't posted anything since yesterday after the bombing in Mosul as I have some thoughts percolating about this whole torture scandal, who authorized it, how it was authorized and the like. I'll post something more on it later. Until then, I just wanted to post this thought as a starter.

Isn't it ironic that we, the self-appointed conscience of the free world, led by a man who apparently puts a premium on the goodness in people's hearts, thinks it is acceptable to torture people he deems an enemy of our way of life?

Man it must be cozy in that comfy, happy place where he lives. All green meadows, clear rivers, and beautiful snow-capped mountains where the good people live. Beyond the tangled forests of dead trees are the people controlled by the bad, evil custodian. If the good custodian says it is ok then ends always justify the means and we can create any kind of justice we want so that the people on the other side of the forest can live just like we do and with due reverance for the good custodian.
