Bon Voyage

In the wake of his police force's massive over-reaction in Oakland, the Chief of Police in that city has resigned.

Mayor Quan isn't the problem. She's been pretty good about a lot of community issues here since she was elected. Yes, this happened on her watch but she's had issues with the police & how much control they want (see the last chief's resignation) and that's no excuse but her statement today goes a long way to fixing the problem. Also, last night there were a lot less police around the square & I don't think there were any Alameda sheriff deputies on site. It's quite possible one (some) of them were responsible as well.

Bullshit. How's that fix the hurt Marine? How's that fix the other assaults and illegal arrests? Ur talking smack, troll turkey. Geez. She's the frigging mayor - guess she's as powerless as O'Blowme. "A long way towards" cheap machine Dem bullshit is what it goes a long way towards. Whatta dumbass comment.

We have been and will continue to do so. That's been part of the problem and that's why the former chief resigned. The City is under a consent decree due to some earlier "police activities" and the federal judge threaten to take over the police department as the process has not been as they say, smooth or timely.

JDM, you're way out of your league. If you lived in Oakland, you'd know that Quan was just elected and is tying to reform an intransigent police department. And the moment you say "O'Blowme" (be more creative than recycling Clinton slams, please, maybe question something like... how about checking into his birth certificate?) you show that you shouldn't be throwing around the word "troll."
